Teach your agent to be lazy
The best code is the code the agent never wrote. A short ladder that keeps diffs small.

Agents are eager. Ask for a cache and you get a cache class, a config file and a factory. Most of the time you wanted one line.
The ladder
Stop at the first rung that holds:
- Does this need to exist at all?
- Is it already in this codebase?
- Does the standard library do it?
- Only then: the smallest code that works.
Make it stick
Writing the ladder into every prompt gets old fast. Install it once as a skill and the agent climbs it on its own.
